He landed in New York City in February 1872, at the age of 24. He went to St. Louis, then to Granby, MO. They purchased a farm there, September 1, 1881 where he lived until the day of his death. He was buried in his own back yard by his wife and children.

Francisco is buried at the Benintendi Family Cemetery. He is on the right-hand side of daughter Pearl, and is on the south side of the other children, and Rosebud is on the north side of all. The cemetery is located in the yard beside the house, beneath the cedar trees, on Francisco's farm three miles east of Granby, in Van Buren Township, Newton County, MO.
