According to the 1900 census of Mobile, Frank Steven Laurence was living on 606 Texas St, along with Augusta and Charles. Henry was living at 807 with Edward RENAULD, Anita, his wife, and Nicolas a son. Henry Laurence was designated as their Cousin. According to the 1900 census there was also in the house hold of Frank Steven Laurence, there was a 8 year old child B. July 1891, designate as the grandson of Frank. As it turns out, Augusta married Charles E. TEW. Frank S. LAURENCE was drafted into the Confederate Army. He served in Wood's Regiment Confederate Cavalry, Company L. According to his youngest Son, Henry H Laurence, he was given a suit that didn't fit, a gun with no trigger, and was assigned to guard a bridge that no one used. He spent the war playing cards, drinking wine. and smoking cigars. Now that's a way to fight a war! The 1870 federal census and the 1890, 1891, 1892 city directory listed him as a carpenter living a 606 Texas St.[Genealogy.com, LLC.
