1. The Chillicothe (MO) Constitution Tribune, Tuesday, May 30, 1995 Frances Thomas Kay, a former resident of Chillicothe, died Monday, May29, 995 in Peoria, Ariz., with her daughters at her side. She was born in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Frederick James andMyrtle Ann Macy Thomas Sr. On Oct. 2, 1938, she married Robert Byron Kaye in Harrisonville, Mo.He preceded her in death on Oct. 6, 1994. Mrs. Kaye graduated from high school in Harrisonville, Mo. Sheattended Central Missouri State in Warrensburg and graduated fromKansas State University with a degree in home economics, majoring indietetic and institutional management. Mrs. Kay was a social workerfor the state of Missouri and was later employed as a dietitian forthe AP Green Brick Company in Mexico, Mo. Mr. and Mrs. Kaye moved toChillicothe in 1945. she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Chillicothe andserved as a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Kaye was amember of Sigma Sigma Sigma, Alpha Delta Pi, American Association ofUniversity Women, the Order of the Easter Star, International GeneralFederation of Women's Clubs, Junior Sorosis, Daughters of the AmericanRevolution and the Olive Prindle Chapter of the Colonial dames of the17th Century. She worked with Girl Scouts in Harrisonville, Boonvilleand Paris, Mo., County Extension Clubs, 4-H and children withdisabilities at the Peter Pan Hospital in Chillicothe. Survivors include two daughters, Mariann Kaye of Houston, Texas, andMacy Kaye of Los Altos, Calif.; a brother Fred J. Thomas ofHarrisonville; and two grandchildren, Wade Johnson of Ames, Iowa, andHetty Ann Johnson of Astoria, N. Y. Memorial services will be at 1: 30 p. m. on Saturday, Jun 10, 1995 atthe Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. A family visitation will be held from 7 until 9 p. m. on Friday, June9, 1995 at the funeral home. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributionsmay be made to Pilot Dogs, INc., 625 West Town Street, Columbus, OH43215 (guide dogs for the blind); Tomasee DAR School, Fwy 11,Tomasee, SC 29686 (a school for orphaned, abused or abandonedchildren); or Alzheimer's Research. Arrangements are under the direction of the Lindley Funeral Home inChillicothe.
