Her last name was sometimes spelled Pruitt. Frances & brother Archibald were bo rn out of wedlock, but their father later married their mother, Wealthy Prewitt . There is some doubt that Joseph Champness Austin was their father, but in his will he left full shares to them (usually only left to blood heirs).
