Old Long Lake Resident Dies

Mrs. Frances Kubesh, 76, a pioneer resident of Long Lake township, died Saturday evening at her farm residence following a lingering illness.

Mrs. Kubesh was born in Monona, Iowa, on July 19, 1877. She attended schools there, coming to Traverse City in 1895. She was united in marriage on July 1 of that year to John G. Kubesh, the couple settling in Long Lake township where they have since made their home.

Mrs. Kubesh was an active member of the Farm Bureau and of the Extension club.

Surviving besides her husband are five daughters, Mrs. Sophia Ansorge of Traverse City, Mrs. Blanche Amtsbuechler of Dallas, Tex., Mrs. Agnes Bon of Muskegon, Iva Simmons of Detroit, and Mrs. Helen Miller of Detroit; two sons, George of Traverse City and J. Raymond of Midland; one sister, Mrs. Joe Opat of Milwaukee; one brother, Frank Lestina of Monona, Iowa, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. The sisters and one brother preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 9:00 o'clock from the Immaculate Conception church, with Rev. Walter Marek officiating. Burial will be made in the family lot in Oakwood cemetery.

The Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening at 8:00 o'clock at the Martinson funeral home in this city. The Rosary service will be attended by the Knights of Columbus in honor of their brother member's mother.
