PLATTSBURGH — Frances Poissant, 79, of Cemetery Road, passed away Saturday, Oct. 13, 2001, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born Nov. 27, 1921, in West Chazy, the daughter of Isaac and Louise (LaPierre) Lashua. Frances was a member of the Catholic Daughters. She was employed by Key Bank for 16 years and was the activities director at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home in Rouses Point. She was employed there until the time of her death. Survivors include one son, Rodney Poissant and his wife, Carole, of Irvine, Calif.; one daughter, Karen Baker of Plattsburgh; five grandchildren, Nicole, Susan and Jeffrey Duve, and Rodney and Renee Poissant; six great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild. Frances was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Oscar, whom she married in 1940; four brothers and two sisters. A memorial Mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 10 a.m. from St. Patrick’s Church in Rouses Point. Interment will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery in West Chazy. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Activity Department at Cedar Hedge Nursing Home, the Fitzpatrick Cancer Center, or Hospice of the North Country. Arrangements are with the Clark Funeral Home. |
