From The Press Enterprise - Sun, Aug 6, 2000 Local-OBITS Frances L. Hartman Frances L. Hartman, 84, of 1501 Virginia Ave., Harrisonburg, Va., died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2000, at the Avante Nursing Facility, Harrisonburg, where she was a patient for one week. She had been seriously ill for two weeks. Born Nov. 29, 1915, in Ross Township, Luzerne County, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Harriet B. (Harned) Farver. A resident of Harrisonburg since Sept. 1, 1988, formerly living in Asheboro, N.C., for 15 years (1973-1988), Hartman lived in Bloomsburg for many years prior to that. Employed as a seamstress by Pinehurst Textiles, Asheboro, N.C., she retired in 1980. Earlier, she had been employed by Milco Industries, Inc., Bloomsburg, for 20 years. Hartman was a member of the Valley Church of Christ, Harrisonburg and had been a member of the First Church of Christ while living in Bloomsburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph B. Hartman, March 9, 1975; by a sister, Lillian Wandell; and two brothers: Ralph E. Farver and Russell J. Farver. Surviving are four children: George E. Hartman, Horsham; Garry E. Hartman, Bloomsburg; Mrs. Louis (Darla E.) Schatz, Asheboro, N.C.; and Mrs. Roy (Doris E.) Fisher, Summerville, S.C.; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Dean W. Kriner, Inc., Funeral Home, 325 Market St., Bloomsburg, with David J. Smith, pastor of the First Church of Christ, Bloomsburg, officiating. Interment will be in Elan Memorial Park, Lime Ridge.
