    Frances Jane Hupp, 93, of Topeka, died March 15, 2017 at the House at Midland Care. She was born on July 5, 1923 on the family farm near Lillis, Kansas, in Marshall County, the daughter of Thomas C. and Minnie E. (Stevens) Clark. She was a graduate of Stewart s Beauty School and was a beautician at Highland Crest and Holiday Square Shops for 25 years and also worked for the Census Bureau. Frances was a charter member of St. Matthew Catholic Church where she was also a member of the St. Martha Guild and the Altar Society. She completed a history book for Lillis, Kansas, and enjoyed spending time with family, canning, gardening, genealogy, and quilting. She was a member of the Hayden Mother s Club, a Den Mother, score keeper for sporting events, and a longtime volunteer for Historic Ward Meade House. Frances was a proud Kansas Democrat! She served as precinct leader, and secretary and vice-chair of the Shawnee County Democratic Central Committee. A highlight of her life was serving as a Kansas Delegate to the 1972 Democratic National Convention, in Miami, FL. Frances enjoyed spending the winters in Mission, Texas. She married Earl Wayne Hupp at the Church of the Assumption on April 7, 1945. He predeceased her on February 20, 2005. She was also predeceased by a son, Thomas A. Hupp, and her siblings, Mary Lieb, Thomas Clark Jr., Mark Clark, John Clark, Elizabeth Katzer, and Paul Clark. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Morse of Manhattan, Carol S. (Douglas E.) Cook of Topeka, a daughter-in-law, Joyce Hupp of Missouri, a sister, Louise Reust of Frankfort, Ks. and sister-in-law, Genitha Lucy Clark of Topeka, seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren. A visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew Catholic Church with a Parish Rosary at 10:00 a.m. Following the Rosary, Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
