[edit] NamesHe was born Foulque of Anjou, and was known as Fulk the Surly (Foulque le Réchin). Plantagenêt was not used as the family name until the fifteenth century. [edit] TitlesFulk became Count of Anjou in 1067 after ousting his elder brother. He ruled jointly with his son, Geoffrey IV, from 1098-1106, when Geoffrey died.
