Fletcher, as he was known, appears as 'F.F.' in the 1860 Iowa census. He moved with his mother and step father from Henry County to Glenwood, Mills County, Iowa in 1867, when he was 10. In 1870 he' s living with the Joseph Coleman family in Glenwood as a farm laborer, age 14.

By 1880, he's still in Mills County, living in Oak Twp, with his wife Elizabeth and their first two children.

His obituary, published in the 'Glenwood Opinion', states that Fletcher moved his family to Oklahoma in January of 1895. He died of heart failure in Garfield County, Oklahoma while building a granary .
