The story from a cousin: Margaret Service was married to Isaac Hilson and their son William Hilson married Mary Ella Rice. Mary Ella had a sister named Elizabeth Rice. She became pregnant outside of wedlock and married a very old man for respectability. Mary Ella and Elizabeth had their children around the same time. Mary Ella?s was premature and only a few pounds. Had to be kept in a pan by the oven and fed with an eyedropper every hour. Mary Ella was quite weak herself. Her sister Elizabeth brought over her new born and asked her to watch him for the day. She did, but Elizabeth never came back, she ran off to the States. Mary Ella looked after both babies but Margaret Service her mother-in-law saw how ill she was getting so she said she would take the sisters baby and raise it as her own. She named him Floyd McLaughlin though he supposedly a Wilson the mans who would later marry Margaret's daughter Elsie
