Floyd was a vice-president of Oldberg Manufacturing CO for over 30 year s. When he retired at the age of 66 years, he moved to Missoula, MT fr om his home in Livonia MI.

He was a member of a Safari club and hunted big game in many parts of t he world. He also began flying in about 1926 by building his first airplane and call ed it the "Home Brew". His pilot license number was 13435. He enjoyed m any airplanes in his lifetime and flew many places in the United State s. He had passed a pilots physical six weeks before he died. He died while hunting birds in Missoula of a massive heart attack.
