I have relatives that were born in Bas Rin, France(formerly Alsace)
The names that you posted are close to some of the names that I have.
My Ancestors were born and living in Engenthal, Bas Rhin, France.
My GGgrandfather was Florent Ritter, M Maier Ann Ruffenach. They had four children. Florent(my gggrandfather) Joseph,Antoine and Ferdinand. Marie died about 1825. Florent remaried To Francoise Scherno. They had four children. George, Sophie, rosalie, and Caroline. Francoise died and Florent remarried again to Marie Schroerer. they had four children. Aloyse, Louis, Marie Anne and Jean.
My Great Grand Father Florent was born in 1819 and Cane to America in 1837. He ended up in Missouri in 1840. He supposedly came to america with two brothers. Joseph and Antoine. The story I have is that the brothers were seperated in NYC and never saw or heard from one another again.
I am wondering if you have the names of the parent of Rosa or John(jean) parents or anything that might link our lines? I Have found very few Ritters that came from France. Most were from Germany. Would appreciate hearing from you. Thank you, Gerald Ritter.
