Florence was active her entire life until the last month of her life. She was considered by many to be quite a remarkable woman. She was a graduate of Knox College, an accomplished musician, active in the community, and after her husband died, she became a noted artist, painting hundreds of oil paintings and pastels which still adorn the homes of many in the area.
