From The Age newspaper on the 14th July 1918: Woman's body found in the sea. The body of a married woman - name Florence Agnes Boyes was found floating in the sea alongside the beach at St. Kilda west at 8.15 a.m. yesterday. The local police were informed and the body was taken to the city morgue by Constable Davidson. Deceased, who lived with her mother at Newport was 34 years of age and had been living apart from her husband. It appears that owing to family bereavement due to the war, deceased had been very despondant of late. Born 3.8.1884. Death Notice: BOYES. On the 13th july (accidently drowned)) Florence Agnes- dearly beloved eldest daughter of Christina and Alfred James of Rupert Street Newport--late of Geelong - aged 34 years. AT REST. |
