Flora was divorced from Wm H Hollenback, and married Mr. Gard. There is a nebulous story told by her grandchildren that William worked for the US Government, and was sent on a secret mission to Czarist Russia. During the mission he was incommunicado for several years. He was presumed dead, so she married Mr. Gard. I happen to think this is a cover up to the fact that they were divorced, which at the time was a social taboo.

Flora Gard and her 2nd husband were actively involved in the "Holiness Camp Meeting" scene. They would travel around to various sites in the midwest and either preach or sing at the Camp Meetings as they traveled. Two of her sons became Preachers.
