According to an Ancestral File record, she was the daughter of Reason Cox and Margaret Edwards. I believe that the James Cox and Lydia Edwards who married and settled in Randolph were siblings of her parents. Margaret and Lydia were daughters of Nathan Edwards and Nancy Black.

 In the 1850 census for Randolph, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, Reason Cox is 32 OH; with Margaret 24; Rebecca 1; and Mary 1 mo. IN. They are next door to James Cox 26 OH.
 In the 1860 census for Randolph, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, 'Reeson Cox' is 43 OH, farmer; with Margaret 35 OH; Rebeck 11 IN; Luis 8; William 6; James 5; Henry 3; (Florence?) 9 mos. -- all born IN; with [brother-in-law?] John Edwards 21 OH; Henry Kindle 18 IN with Elizabeth 19.
 In the 1870 census for Randolph, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, Margaret Cox is 42 OH; with Alice 21; Henry 12; Mary 10 -- all born IN; and [father] (Nathan?) Edwards 82 VA 'soldier 1812'.
 In the 1880 census for Grant, Vermillion Co., Illinois, Margaret Cox is 56 OH; with son Louis J. 29 IN; daughter-in-law Mary G. 18 PA; and sons Wiliam N. 25; and Henry O. 22.

Flora and David had 5 children: Vera 1881-1965 m. Earl Mills; George 1883- ; Laura 1885-1962 m. Clyde Ray Johnson; Susie 1891-1961 m. Charles Hill; and Ben 1893- m. Emma Terhune.
