GIBSONVILLE - Mrs Flora Coble Shoffner, 89, of 400 Whitsett St, died Sunday night at 11:55 o'clock at her home, following five years of declining health.

A native of Guilford County, Mrs Shoffner was the daughter of the late John and Mary Ann Jones Coble. She was the wife of the late Robert Daniel Shoffner, who died in 1920, and was a member of Gibsonville Evangelical Methodist Church, where she had taught Sunday school for 15 years.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs George L Thomas, Jr of Lebanon, Tenn; three sons, R L Shoffner, Sr of Burlington, Jack Shoffner of the home and Arlie Coble Shoffner of Arlington, Virginia; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Final rites will be held Tuesday afternoon at 3 o'clock at Gibsonville Evangelical Methodist Church. Burial will be in Gibsonville City Cemetery.
