Was shot by a Nazi soldier during Italy's occupation by Germany in WorldWar 2. He went outside to check on his animals and saw a soldier.Thinking it was an English soldier, he greeted the soldier with "Hello"and after speaking, the soldier asked him how he knew English. Hereplied that he had been to America "manytimes" and when he said goodbyeto the soldier and turned around to go back inside, the soldier shot himin the back of the head. (source: family)
