Ferne was born in York, PA on August 30, 1922, the daughter of the late Clarence and Bertha (Fissel) Hoover. She was a 1940 graduate of West York High School and attended all the class reunions. She was a Sears retiree, having worked there for over 20 years. She enjoyed music, sports, traveling and wintering in Bradenton, FL for 20 years. Her children will remember all the back yard sports she played with them. Ferne is survived by a daughter, Barbara Boyer and her husband Michael and a son, Mark Crumrine and his wife Diane, all of York, PA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her step-sister, Thelma Reichard and brother-in-law, Edward Crumrine. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 16, 2022 at the Etzweiler-Koller Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 2000 W. Market St. York, PA with the Rev. Jeffrey Bender officiating. A viewing will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Susquehanna Memorial Gardens.
