emigrated in 1652. In "History of the Van Sickle Family" , by John W. Van Sickle, A.M.M.D. Ph.D. 1880 (granted degree by unchartered colleges), among other piousities it iws stated that... p. 80. Fernandus Van Sycklen, the emigrant, married (about 1660) Eva Anthonis Jansen (born 1641) daughter of Antony Jansen van Salee (a footnote starred to this place states that Antony Jansen is supposed to have come from Fez or Salee in Africa, and was probably a son of Jan Janse of Haerlem in Holland, "a freebooter and pirate, who settled in Salee in Morrocco, where he married, turned Turk or Mohammedan, deserting his lawful wife and children, whom he left at Haerlem).
