Ferdinand Rentz, 71, a well-known resident of Newport, where he had lived all his life, died yesterday at his home on East Third street. Paralysis was the cause of death. Mr. Rentz leaves a widow and three children. Harry Rentz, connected with the United States Post-office Department; Edward, who is an the employee of the L. and N. Railroad Company, and Mrs. Gossiger. He was well known by river men, having spent most of his life the river trade. Later he was a member of the Newport Police Department. The funeral will take place tomorrow.
