(a) "G. Felix Grundy Hudson was for many years a highly regarded physician of BentonCounty. This family moved to old civil district 6; buried at CedarGroveMethodistChurch."

(b) Served in Co. A, 55th TN Infantry Regiment. Enlisted about may, 1864 at Okalona, MS. Was in the battle of Atlanta, GA. discharged on disability. Civil War pension application #11706 accepted, 1909.

(c) From Chamberlain Hudson Family Bible (quoted in 'Historic Benton' by J. K. T.Smith) "Albert J. (Jeff) Hudson (1818-1884) was married to Jemima Rushing and lived eventually on a farm in the old 6th civil district. Their son, Dr. Felix G. Hudson (Aug 5, 1838-June 8, 1924) was one of Benton Counties well-known physicians. Accordig to his biographical sketch in Goodspeed's History of Tennessee, (Benton County Biographies, p943) Dr Hudson was raised on the paternal farm; commenced the study of medicine at age 21 with an uncle, J. U. Hudson; served in the battles of New Hope Church, Atlanta, Franklin, etc. in Co. H, 55th Reg., Tennessee Infantry, CSA. After the war he practiced medicine, living in civil district 6. In 1895 Dr. Hudson bought the Farmer property on the north side of the Camden Square and erected there a lovely, two-story frame swelling, where he and his family lived for many years."

"F. G. HUDSON, M. D., who resides about five miles from Camden was born in this county in 1838, and is a son of Albert J. and Jemimah M. (Rushing) Hudson. The father was a descendant of the English explorer, Henry Hudson, and was born in the year 1818 in HumphreysCounty, Middle Tenn., and in a few years his father, Dorsey P., came to BentonCounty. He was a very influential citizen and was clerk of the various courts for many years. Albert J. lived in BentonCounty at the time of his marriage and afterward located in the Fifth District where he resided a number of years, then moved to the Sixth District where he died in 1884. His wife, Jemimah, was a native of BentonCounty born in 1823 or 1824. She is yet living and resides on the old home place. Our subject, Dr. F. G. Hudson, is one of three children living of the nine born to his parents. He received his literary education in the common schools of BentonCounty and worked on the farm of his parents until twenty-one years of age, when he commenced the study of his chosen profession under his uncle, Dr. Joseph U. Hudson. In 1864 he enlisted in Company A, Fifty-fifth Regiment Tennessee Infantry, and actively engaged in the battles of New Hope Church, Ga., Atlanta, Jonesboro, Franklin, Nashville and many others. During the time he was not in active battle he was on detached service acting as surgeon. In 1865 Dr. Hudson entered upon the regular practice of his profession and on November 17, 1867, married Miss Frances R. Combs, who is a native of North Carolina. They are the parents of five children, named Dorsey G., Susan Stella, Eula Lee, Elihu and Charles M. Dr.Hudson is a Democrat in politics, member of the Masonic fraternity (Chapter Lodge, No. 64, and Blue Lodge, No. 179) of Camden, and he and wife are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. "
