(Fanny) Ruth Cleary, 93, died Saturday morning at Elmwood Nursing Ho me in Green Springs where she had been a resident for the past three years . She was born in Fremont to Inez (Brubaker) and John Frank Gephart. Both fa milies have a long history in western Sandusky CO. She had no siblings.

She graduated as class valedictorian from Jackson High School in 1928.

The family farmed on U.S 6, three miles west of Fremont, for many years. W hile caring for her ill father, she married Arthur F Cleary on Dec. 5, 193 7, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church and moved to a country home in south C lyde in 1948. Mr. Cleary died in April 1990.

Mrs. Cleary was a homemaker and regularly participated in farm women's gro ups, including treasurer of the Farmers Union Credit Union. She also work ed at Red's Truck Stop, Kuny's Market, BiLo Restaurant, Kudro's and lat er as a caretaker for the Molyet, Steinbauer and Miller families.

She was a member of Fireside Evangelical and Reformed Church, south of Bel levue, now Fireside United Church of Christ. She regularly attended Calva ry United Methodist Church in Green Springs in later years.

She is survived by children Kenneth F Cleary of Gibsonburg, Emily L Wadswo rth and Michael D Cleary, both of Clyde; and four grandchildren.

Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Foos-Klein Funeral Home, Clyde.

Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Rev. John Bailey offi ciating.

Burial: Bakertown Cemetery, southwest of Clyde, Sandusky CO Rd 185.

Reception luncheon: Will follow for family and friends at First United Met ¡hodist Church, West Maple St, Clyde.

Memorials: To the nursing home's activities department or the Arthur and R uth Cleary Scholarship Fund for the underprivileged.
