Fanny Cooper was baptised on 22nd February 1824 at Arlesey in Bedfordshire, daughter of an agricultural labourer called William Cooper and his wife Elizabeth. The 1841 census finds Fanny living with her parents and siblings at White Horse Street in Arlesey. Shortly afterwards, Fanny appears to have had a daughter called Mary.
On 11th May 1844, Fanny married George Worbey at the nearby market town of Hitchin. After their marriage Fanny and George returned to Arlesey, where they had a daughter baptised in 1845. By 1847 they had moved a few miles north to Potton, where they appear to have lived for the rest of their lives. They had another nine children baptised at Potton between 1847 and 1866. Fanny, George and their children appear in the 1851 census at Dublin End in Potton. George worked as a carpenter.
The 1871 and 1881 censuses each find Fanny, George and their children living at Horselow Street in Potton. By 1891 they had moved to Pound End and they had one of their married daughters and her husband and children living with them in a four roomed house.
George died on 27th January 1901 in Potton. He was 81 years old.
Fanny appears in the census taken two months later living with her son William at Everton Road in Potton. Ten years later, the 1911 census finds Fanny boarding at 13 Wagstaff Terrace in Potton. She died later that year, aged 87.
