Personal History

Fanny Brown Boulton, (third) daughter of Moses Boulton of Ryland in Welton, labourer, by Rebecca Ann[1] Overton,[2] was baptized on 18 January 1857 in the parish of Welton (by Lincoln), Lincolnshire, England[1] (the birth was registered in the district of Lincoln[2]).

On 15 August 1870, Fanny arrived at the Port of Québec, Canada, on the S.S. Peruvian with her father, Moses Bolton, and four siblings; the list of passengers who embarked at the Port of Liverpool, England, was dated 4 August 1870. A list of passengers who embarked at the Port of Londonderry (in present-day Northern Ireland) was dated the next day.[4]
