Ezra had a split personality. One day he would be sober and religious, the next he would come home drunk. One day he came home from Plumerville drunk. He gathered all his kids into the pasture where they lived (very near the Old Whipple Church of Christ), climbed up into a large Tree and began to peach to them while he was still intoxicated. Two weeks later, lightning struck that tree, greatly damaging it. Old Ezra moved off that home place and never returned! ....Retold by Alan Mahan
