"Mrs. Evelyn SEAVER MAYO was born in Gerry, Chautauqua County, New York, December 14, 1834.

"When a girl the family came west, locating in Cooksville, Wisconsin. At her mother's death the care of the home and an invalid brother fell upon Miss Evelyn's shoulders, who devotedly administered to all their wants.

"After the death of her father and two brothers she was married in 1888 to Jospeh MAYO of Cooksville, Wis., who died in 1894.

"Since that time she has been making her home with relatives and friends in various places in Wisconsin, Kansas and Michigan. For the past year she has been with the SEAVER family in Michigan. She has been very feeble for some time and on February 7, 1910, suffered a stroke of paralysis, leaving her entirely helpless.

"She passed quietly away in Burr Oak, Mich., at the home of Mrs. J.E. SEAVER, February 28, 1910, at 12:30 p.pm., aged 75 years, two months and fifteen days. She was a member of the Episcopal church of Evansville, wis., of which she was a faithful and consistent member.

"The funeral was held from the house Friday, March 4, Rev. G.E. Pooler conducting the Episcopal services, and interment was made in the Burr Oak Village Cemetery."
