Evelyn Hines Welch, age 88, died at Serenity House Hospice in Oregon, Ill on May 3, 2011. She was born on January 23, 1923 at Sioux City, IA. She grew up in Madison graduating from Madison High School in 1941. She moved to Chicago, ILL where she married Jack Welch on March 29, 1945. She raised her family in the Cedar Rapids, IA and Freeport, ILL area where she was active in PTA, Boy Scouts , Bowling and Bridge. She is survived by one son - Jack (Tina) Welch of Chicago, ILL and Susan Schroeder of Byron, ILL. two grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Six brothers - Leslie Hines of San Diego, CA, Ernie Hines of Hiawatha, IA, Richard Hines of Milford, NE, Charles Hines of Mason City, IA, Harold Hines of St Cloud, MN, Wayne Hines of Minnetonka, MN. Two sisters - Mildred McLuen of Perry, IA and Shirley Moore of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1996 and one brother. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 am on Saturday, May 7, 2011 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Madison, SD with Rev Constansa Hagmaier officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Madison, SD. Weiland Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
