Pg. 29 Evelyn Lucille Gilbreath Holland died Sunday, Dec. 3, at a local hospital. She was 77. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was born in Rainsville, Ala., on May 23, 1929 but lived most of her life in Chattanooga and North Georgia. She was retired from JC Penney Co. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Baxter and Ella Gilbreath of Rainsville; brother, Ralph Gilbreath; sisters, Dollie Jane Burns, Ethel Burns, Leona Bowlen and Belle Kihm. Survivors include her devoted husband of 60 years, Orville Holland; daughter, Sandra "Sandy" Bowman and husband Dennis of Rossville; son, Greg Holland and wife Karla of Ringgold; two special grandsons, Shaun Bowman and Jordan Holland; two loving sisters, Catherine Tipton of East Ridge, Tenn., Willie B. Price of Bryant, Ala.; one loving sister-in-law, Maybell York of East Ridge; several nieces and nephews. Services: Wednesday, Dec. 6, at 1 p.m. at the funeral home chapel with pastor Gary Moore officiating. Burial: Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. Visitation: Tuesday, Dec. 5, from noon to 8 p.m., and after 11 a.m. Wednesday at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory. Condolences may be sent at www.heritagefh.com.
