Evelyn R. Blake Calhoon, 93, of Iola, Kansas, died Sunday, July 6, 2014, at the Allen County Regional Hospital.
Evelyn was born November 7, 1920. She grew up in the Mosby and Excelsior Springs, Missouri areas.
On March 11, 1944, Evelyn married Rev. Harold L. Blake and they moved to Iola in 1951. She worked at the Iola Chamber of Commerce before beginning her career in banking at Iola State Bank. Mr. Blake preceded her in death April 8, 1972. Evelyn and A. Merle Calhoon were married February 14, 1994. He died May 12, 1997.

3 Children: Penny Lee Kafka of Reisterstown, MD, Harold Lee Blake & wife, Jeanie of Ennis, TX and Larry G. Blake of Portland, OR
2 Step-Children: Larry Calhoon & wife, Sheri of Chanute, KS and Sharon Phillips of Wichita, KS
8 Grandchildren & 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, one granddaughter and two sisters.
VISITATION: 7:00-8:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 10:00 a.m., Thursday, July 10, 2014, at the Waugh-Yokum & Friskel Chapel in Iola.
BURIAL: Memorial Park Cemetery on east 14th Street in Chanute, Kansas
