EVELYN (ANDERSON) MACHA Charles City Press 2 May 2000

Evelyn Macha, 85, of Nora Springs and formerly of New Hampton, died Saturday, April 29, 2000 at the Nora Springs Care Center of Cancer.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today, Tuesday, May 2, at the Jerico Lutheran Church, rural New Hampton, with Rev. Kent Dethlefsen presiding. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Evelyn Gladys Macha was born June 20, 1914, near Jerico, the daughter of Jens and Ellen (Samson) Anderson. She attended the rural school and was baptized and confirmed at the Jerico Lutheran Church. She was married to Harry Macha on Oct. 13, 1947, at the Little Brown Church near Nashua. Following their marriage, they made their home in Nora Springs. In recent years Evelyn made her home at Maple View Manor until failing health necessitated he move to the Care Center in Nora Springs on January 20 of this year. Evelyn is survived by several nieces and nephews. She was proceeded in death by her parents; her husband, Harry, in 1985; an infant son, Gary Edward Macha; three brothers; Ole J., Elmer and Jens Anderson; and six sisters; Sarah Twedt, Anna Anderson, Sena Mosby, Agnes Miller, Clara Anderson, and Henrietta Thompson.
