Evan DOBKINS (sometimes DOBBINS) appears in the 1782-83 Personal Property Tax Lists in Rockingham Co. Evan is believed to be a son of Capt. John DOBKINS, whose father was John A. DOBIKIN. Evan is next listed in a 1784 PP Tax List in Shenandoah Co. with John and two brothers, Jacob and Reuben. Evan and his two brothers served under Capt. Jacob HOLEMAN in the Dunmore Co.
