History of Logan Co., IL states Eva married John Osier in Dakota Territory but returned to New Holland. Another history says she was a teacher at the old Gayle Country School at the age of 17 and that she accompained her parents to the Dakota Territory where she married at the age of 19. Because she liked Illinois better and had family there, she and John returned to New Holland after their marriage. After John's death Eva lived alone in her home in New Holland until her health was failing and entered a nursing home in Lincoln in 1950. She died there on her 85th birthday.
