Evertje's parentage is proven by the will of Aucke Jansen Van Nuys.

Jan Auke Van Nuys married Eva or Evertje Janse as his second wife. It is doubtful that she was his step-sister at the time of the marriage. However, their respective parents do appear to have married shortly after Jan and Eva.
