Rev. Eusebius Merchant DODGE, was the son of Eld. Eusebius and Anna (Merchant) DODGE--family records state that his father was also a Bapt. clergyman, as well as Justice of the Peace.
Eusebius M. married Hannah H. Hall, Oct. 15, 1826, and they had several children.
His parents and extended families moved to Ohio where Rev. Eusebius M. was ordained as an evangelist, Oct. 15, 1837. He labored with poor churches and in destitute places, and saw many souls converted.
He was a man of uncommon power, with great faith and perseverance and love for people. He baptized about a thousand persons.
He died at an early age of 45 years.
