WALL Dies at 100, Last Orleans Spanish War Vet Middleport--Eugene N. WALL, 100 years of age, formerly of 121 Hedley St., Medina, Orleans County's last remaining Spanish American War veteran died Saturday at the Veterans Administration Hospital at Batavia after a lengthy illness.He was born December 6, 1878 in Middleport, and had served during the Spanish-American War. For many years, he was a farmer and carpenter in the Medina area. he was a member of the Medina Oddfellows for more than 70 years, and was also a member of the Medina Veterans of Foreign Wars.He is survived by two sons, Dayton E. WALL of Medina, and Edward P. WALL of Auburn, Wash.; three daughters, Mrs. George (Dorothy) GREGORY of Knowlesville, Mrs. Arthur (Edna) PARSONS of Albion and Mrs. George (Bertha) HERRIVEN of Medina; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grand children, 3 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.Friends may call Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home Inc., 38 State Street, Middleport, where funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon with the Rev. Kenneth Baker officiating. Interment will be in Millville Cemetery. Military funeral Services will be conducted by the Medina VFW. The Medina Oddfellows will conduct a memorial service Monday evening at 7 o'clock at the funeral home.
