Hepatitis Claims HS Boy - Infectious hepatitis claimed the life of Eugene G.Martin 17, on Monday. He would have been a Mason HS senior in September. Gene was the son of Mr.&Mrs.Gerald F.Martin of 439 W.Ash in Mason. They moved to Mason a year ago from Onondaga. The son transfered from Leslie HS. He was member of Mason football & baseball teams. The boy had not been feeling well for a week, his mother said, when he entered a Lansing hospital Turs night of last week. His condition had caused no alarm until that night. At the hospital his condition steadily worsened and he died Monday moring. Gene was born in Lansing Dec 30, 1942. The family lived in Rives & Onondaga before coming to Mason. Besides teh parents he is survived by a broterh Max and grandparents, M&M Elmer Otis of Leslie. Services at Ball-Dunn Funeral home on Thurs afternoon with burial in Maple Grove. Rev.Roy Mumau of the Mason Church of the Nazarene officiated. Pallbeareres: Lonny Phillip and Ronald Ballard of Mason, Richard Lang of Dansville; John Towns of Jackson & James Rakestraw of Chicago. All except for the Towns youth are cousins of Gene.
