ETHEL FRENCH
Ethel French, 94, Concordia, died July 14, 1998, at Mount Joseph Senior Community.
She was born Aug 2, 1903, in Jamestown to Ethan and Aurie Taylor McBride. She lived many years in the Jamestown community. She attended Jamestown schools and graduated from Jamestown High School. During the 1920's, she taught in a rural school north of Jamestown. She married Ted H. French, April 22, 1925, at Clay Center. He died Aug 18, 1976. She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Jamestown and was a 50-year member and Past Worthy Matron of Leah Chapter Order of Eastern Star of Concordia.
Survivors include one son, Robert French of Salina; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m., Friday, July 17, at the Chaput-Buoy Funeral Chapel in Concordia with the Rev. Ralph Jones officiating. A private family burial service will be at a later date at Fairview Cemetery, Jamestown.
Memorials may be made to the Jamestown United Methodist Church.
