Mrs. William H. (Ethel) Ewing Lanham, 92, 224 W. North, died Thursday at 4:30 p.m. in Indianapolis.
Mrs. Lanham was born and married at 224 W. North, and lived there most of her life. She was born Jan. 26, 1885, the daughter of George M. and Nettie Ross Ewing.
She was, along with the late Mrs. Tom (Cora) Davidson, one of the founders of the local Girl Scout troops. She was a member of the Greensburg Presbyterian Church and her grandfather helped with the construction of the church. She was a member of the Associate Chapter of Tri Kappa and of Chapter T, PEO Sisterhood. She also belonged to the Greensburg Department Club.
She was married to William H. Lanham Dec. 15, 1915, in Greensburg and he preceded her in death Feb. 28, 1957.
She is survived by two daughters: Mrs. Robert (Catherine R.) Miller, Malvern, Pa., and Mrs. Robert (Janet L.) Walton, Indianapolis; five grandchildren: Robert Miller III, Cincinnati, William L. Walton, chicago, Ill., Ross L. Miller, Malvern, Pa., Melissa Miller, Houston, Mrs. Brent (Lucinda W.) Voorhies, Bloomington; a brother, Oscar R. Ewing, Chapel Hill, N.C., and one sister-in-law, Mrs. Hal T. (Iva) Kitchin, Franklin.
The services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Gilliland-Howe Funeral Home with the Rev. F. William Clemenson officiating and with burial in South Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday.
