Esther ,well known Iowa Beemer family, was full-blooded Cree Indian from Canada. Her Birthday is too close to Daniel Miller's (6 April 46) is more evidence that Ester Van Sycle, who was very white , was not her natural mother. She may have been Jacob's by his Indian Wife, as it was common practice, I have read, to marry into the tribe to gain hunting rights. See Essay regarding Cree and Hudson Bay Trading Company. More likely, she was [unofficially] adopted, perhaps to facilitate Entry into U.S.
