  2. No birth record for a Esther Goodwin around 1765 is found. Source:Reed, Jacob Whittemore. History of the Reed Family in Europe and America, p. 506, calls her "Esther Goodwin of Plymouth", but neglects to explain how or why he knows that. He has probably confused her with her son's wife, Sally Goodwin, who is of Plymouth. One would intuitively suspect she is the eldest child of John Goodwin of Charlestown and Esther Bradish of Cambridge who m. Cambridge 21 Nov 1764, and at some point moved there (daughter Rebecca bp. there 1777 per Cambridge VR; Source:Wyman, Thomas Bellows. Genealogy of the Name and Family of Hunt : Early Established in America from Europe : Exhibiting Pedigrees of Ten Thousand, p. 334, says their daughter Anna was baptized in Charlestown 1773).
