Her maiden name was not Allen per "Thomas Fox of Concord" p. 18a. However a note in the book indicates that further research indicates Esther to have been born Allen, married an Andrew, then Allyn, then Fox. This is confirmed by the records of her three marriages in Torrey.

Her husbands (in order) were John Andrews, b. 1625 married before 1672; John Allyn b. 1642 married about 1690; and Samuel Fox.

Esther had no children by Samuel Fox.

In his will Samuel Fox called her Esther.

Here is an extract from the will of Esther (Allen) Andrews (Allyn) Fox. It was probated in Bristol County Mass


The will of Easther Fox of Swansea, widow, "being very aged", it was written on 12 January 1733 and probated on 20 September 1737. She named sons Benjamin Andreas (deceased), John Andreas, Ephraim Andreas (deceased), an daughters Easther Russell (deceased), Joannah Hillard (deceased), Hanna Goter of Long Island, and Lidiah Clerk of "Stoning Town" (Stonington).

The will also mentioned the following grandchildren though not by name: Children of son Eprhaim by his first and second wives; and Joannah Hillard's children. Grandchild Ann Russell, daughter of her daughter Easther Russell, deceased, was named along with Jonathan Kingsley of Rehoboth to be her executor.

Believed to be daughter of James and widow of Richard Smith
