Grandma (Ester) would tell me stories when I was young about growing up in Montana and having a brother named Jack who died in a train accident. She also told me once that her parents owned a dance hall at some point. Her nick name that her father gave her when she was young was "Dollie Lee" . A year or two before Grandma passed she wanted me to write down the lyrics of her music. She forgot quite a bit so I a a few bits and pieces. I asked her a couple questions about her past. I did not get a lot of information....all she wanted to do was sing. In a note book I have written down that her father is Arthur Lee. Mt. Morris Montana. Her mother was Scottish and a teacher. Her father a Norwegian and he farmed? Other bits and pieces are that her mother was a composer and she could sew very well. I also have something written down about someone named "Bessy" (Baptism Elizabeth) died on all souls day. You have to understand our grandmother talked A LOT! Sometimes it made sense and towards the end of her life some things she would say made NO sense to me at all. Religion was very important to her. She mentioned she was Episcopalian. And I know She was a nurse. She told me many times that she wished I would be one. She did not get married until she was in her early to mid 30s..... Her (and Edward) (Grandpa) had six children between the ages of 36 and 42. Know that is what she told me. I could be off on this and you might want to verify with her children. I will get pictures to you in the next week. Grandma also told me she had music she wrote that were put on to records. She did not sing them. Again, I do not know if this is true. But she was a talented poet. I have no reason to doubt what she said. Songs Ester wrote: Little White Cottage by the Woods, If you Want to Get Married, Juke Box Melody, Humpty Dumpty Me, I apologize if this information is unnecessary. I am sure I rambled on a bit, something I got from dear old Grandma. When I get more information I will send it to you. Thank you for taking the time to do this. Let me know if you have any questions.
