Estel L. DeBord, 92, of Penn Craft, Pennsylvania, died Monday, December 29, 2008. He was born on January 15, 1916, in Enterprise, Kentucky, son of the late Charles and Clara Olive Bailey DeBord. He was one of the original members of the Penn Craft Association, Veterans of World War II attaining the rank of Master Sergeant. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Skakandy DeBord; four children: Barry DeBord and wife, Linda of Lyndhurst, Ohio, Denise McMillen and husband, Terry of Uniontown, Pennsylvania, Candace Harvey and husband, James of LaBelle, Pennsylvania and Cris DeBord and wife, Ralene of Wexford, Pennsylvania; ten grandchildren: Barry DeBord and wife, Tracy, Nikole Godenswager and husband, Matt, Adam DeBord and wife, Sara, Carol Punday and husband, Dan, Terald McMillen and wife, Leeza, Larry Ulery, Jr. and wife, Maria, Jeremy Ulery and wife, Katie, Jodi Lynn McDonald and husband, John, Daniel James Harvey and Wyatt DeBord; 13 great-grandchildren: Jessica Hassan, Joshua, Andrew and Matthew Godenswagger, Alex, Zachary and Gavin DeBord, Naithen McMillen, Samuel Punday, Raya Jean McDonald, Antonio Ulery and Bekah Rose and Michael Dean Ulery. He was predeceased by sisters, Erma Dubois and Opal Cornell and brother, George DeBord. Friends will be received in the Skirpan Funeral Home, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pennsylvania, today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm where a funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 1 pm with the Rev. Steven Morganti officiating. Interment in LaFayette Memorial Park with full military rites accorded by American Legion Post 295, 940 and 838.
