Obituary Ernest Schneiter, former presiding judge of Caldwell County Court, passed away 22 January 1949 at his farm home north of Cowgill, Mo. Funeral services were Monday, January 24. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law of the home, Mr. And Mrs. William Moss; four grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. S. F. Teegarden of Hamilton and Mrs. J. S. Shaney of Nettleton. The funeral was held at the Methodist Church conducted by James Heath. The body was laid to rest in the Cowgill Cemetery beside his wife who passed away many years ago. He was the son of Chrisstian and Sussanna Schneiter, born 7 June 1878 at Cowgill, Mo. His parents, with five small children, came from Switzerland and bought the farm where they lived. He attended Easterville School. He was united in marriage to Miss Maude Ashby of Lawson, Mo. on the 28th of April, 1915. Mrs. Schneiter passed away 8 December 1938. He was buried in the family lot in the Cowgill Cemetery. |
