Ernest never served in the military.
Ernest left Marion for another women, Ethel McKee, when their son, Frank, was 9 years old and Marion was pregnant with their 2nd child, Ernest. I recently discovered thru my father, Frank, that Marion could have had a 'boyfriend' prior to the marriage breakup. And that Ernest could possibly be another man's son and not Ernest P.s. Dad said he remembered his mother would have a man & his brother over the house while Ernest was working. And one day Ernest came home from work and found the men in the house and a large argument ensued. It was after the argument that his father left the family. Ernest moved to Humboldt Ave, Roxbury, MA after leaving Marion.
Dad & Ernest Jr. do not look anything alike. Please see Frank's 'scrapbook' picture of the two of them standing together. Ernest Sr. met Ethel in the bakery where Ethel worked in the office. They eventually retired to Florida.
