  3. Ernest Fieker, 82, Dies Nine Days After Wife

    Ernest Fieker, 82, a lifelong resident of the Mt. Vernon community, died at 12:30 p.m. Saturday, January 20, in the Lawrence County Nursing Home, after a long illness.

    Mr. Fieker's wife, Anna died January 11, a retired farmer, he was a member of the Zion United Church of Christ.

    Services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Zion Church, with the Rev. E. A. Eigenrauch officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery under direction of Max L. Fossett.
