    Irma H. Bane died Sept. 15 at the age of 81.
    She was born July 28, 1907 in Craigmont, Idaho. She lived in Ballard since 1973. She was active in senior citizens activities in the Ballard area. She and her late husband Arthur Bane owned and operated a retail grocery store for several years in the Hawthorne Hills area.
    She is survived by a sister, Marie Nassen of San Diego; three nephews, Reece Mayer of Medford, Harold Mayer of Corvallis and Robert Nickelson [sic] of Pittsburgh; two nieces, Ann Knott of Seattle and Judy Diaz of Van Nuys, Calif; and numerous great nephews and nieces.
    At her request, no services were held. Burial was at Evergreen-Washelli. Memorials can be made to Children's Hospital.

    When Irma was born in 1907, on the family ranch home near Ilo, which is present day Craigmont, and where the Mayer's lived for 5 yrs. The Aunts told me that their mother gave oldest girl, Lilly, 17, permission to name the new Baby. Lilly wanted to name her "Idaho" but her mother nixed that. So Lilly named her "Irma" (according to Cousin Bob Mickelson) after an Indian girlfriend of hers. Lots of Nez Perce Indians around yet at that tim
