Person:Erhard Jauch (1)

In the IGI, this is a Catholic christening in Dieslingen. But the family book in Diesslingen examined by Rose Schiller indicates that Erhard was Evangelisch.

Although I disagree about Erhard's parentage (and Rose Schiller's review of Diesslingen family books confirms this), Cary Schabert documents this Erhard Jauch as emigrating to Wisconsin. See http://www.gencircles.com/users/traderz1/1/data/24788. (no longer online as of 2005).

1900 census, Gilman, Pierce Co., WI: Yauch, Earhard, head, b unk 1841, 59, m18 years; b. Germany; emig unk; farmer -, Augusta, wife, b Sep 1855 Germany; age 44; m18 years, 1 birth, 1 living emig 1880 -, Otto, son, b Oct 1879 Germany [therefore son of Augusta, but not of Erhardt] ; emig 1880 Ii.e., with mother?); occ: school teacher -, John, son, b Nov 1867 Michigan, 32, single, farm laborer

This last above must be a second marriage because two children are listed-- Otto (20, b. Germany) and John (32, b. Michigan)-- clearly older than the number of Earhardt and Augusta are married. Cary Schubert does not document a second marriage.

October 2009: Jillaine Smith received the following email from descendant Jeffrey D. Yauch: “Erhard Jauch and Magaline Young are my great-great-great grandparents. (The other list I saw had Erhard's parents as Johann Martin Jauch(b-20Jan1791) and Anna Jaeckle.)

“Harvey Lyle Yauch and Minnie Anna Ella Ziehme are my great grandparents. I never knew Minnie, but I did know Harvey. He died in 1987 in Elmwood, WI

“Lyle Yauch and Lois? were my grandparents. Lyle died in 1976 and Lois died in Mar 2002 in Elmwood, WI.

“Their children include my father (John Edward Yauch), Roger, Barbara, Cindy, and Sue”
